Idea Cellular, Geodesic tie up for mobile internet radio

MUMBAI: Mumbai-based Geodesic Information Systems (GIS) and Idea Cellular have jointly announced the launch of Idea Radio - a mobile internet radio service. Built on Geodesic's Mundu Radio technology, Idea Radio will enable Idea's 20 million subscribers to tune in to a range of entertainment channels, 24 hours a day, without the need to carry a separate device, or to be within the limited range of FM radio stations.

Radio Indigo, Black Dog bring Alain Brunet trio to perform in Bangalore

MUMBAI: Bhaskar Group's My FM has launched in Jabalpur, taking the total number to 17 FM across India. My FM is already operational in places that include Jaipur, Chandigarh, Jalandhar, Ahmedabad. Menwhopause confirm their American tour

MUMBAI: In February 2008, Menwhopause was awarded the Jack Daniel's Legendary Mash Best Rock Band Award for 2007-2008. There's more good news for the band following the honour in that they will feature at the legendary mash festival at Lynchburg, Tennessee in April.As a lead-up to the mash festival at Lynchburg; Menwhopause have also confirmed their American tour. Menwhopause's tour actually started with an official showcase last March at South by South West [SXSW] in Austin, Texas. They were the first Indian rock band till date to give a performance there.

Clear Channel gets $19.5 billion buyout approval

MUMBAI: The Justice Department of the US has approved the $19.5 billion sale of U.S. radio operator Clear Channel Communications by two private equity firms. The Justice Department said it would not oppose the acquisition of San Antonio, Texas-based Clear Channel by Bain Capital Partners and Thomas H. Lee Partners, as long as Clear Channel divested radio stations in four U.S. cities.
