Armaan Malik on what motivates him: It’s the will to be a better version of myself, daily

Popular musician Armaan Malik had recently collaborated with Gaana’s Music Heals- a campaign that includes a specially curated playlist to bring peace, positivity, and relax the mind and soul. These playlists are designed to help you take a break from what’s going around and let you breathe, connect with your inner self. Notable singers, practitioners have come in support of this campaign. This includes Armaan Malik who has expressed his views working for this campaign. Check interview below.

1. Could you tell us about your experience working with Gaana for this project?

My experience, as always, has been amazing. It was a very thoughtful move by the Gaana to have launched ‘Heal with Music’ at a time when the world is reeling from the consequences of the ongoing pandemic, and craving peace of mind. The consciously curated playlist has something for everyone, whether they are trying to catch a break or simply looking for a distraction. Music is magical, it has solid power to shift your mood in a surreal manner, and I’m proud to have associated with Gaana to create a library of positivity that enables individuals to experience exactly this. I pray for healing, I pray for recovery.

2. How are you personally taking care of your mental health amid this pandemic?

I love being on stage and feeling the exhilaration of performing and enjoying with fans. The pandemic-induced challenges require us to stay cautiously indoors, which has of course been tough for everyone. Personally speaking, what has kept me sane and smiling are the moments spent with my family, with my dog ‘Handsome’ as well as the time invested in brainstorming to create new music. I have also been trying to inculcate positive habits such as working out and meditating - especially pushing myself to do so when I feel really down. It has been quite a ride, but I believe as long as we face this together, with resilience, we will emerge stronger, safer and happier.

3. As your fans look out for inspiration from you, what is that one advice you would like to give them?

That voice in your head that stops you from achieving your dreams, makes you feel incapable, makes you doubt yourself – switch it off. You are much more than you credit yourself for - be kind, be patient, be hopeful and unstoppable – there is nothing in this world you can’t do, as long as your heart and soul are in it – it’s yours for the taking.

4. What truly motivates you?

It’s the will to be a better version of myself, daily. I believe that you aren’t truly living, if you aren’t striving to progress, learn and make mistakes. I motivate myself every night before sleeping by saying this one line in my heart silently - “I will try again tomorrow and promise that come what may I will strive to give my one hundred percent”. The console for the game of life is in our own hands, we have to own it and control it.

5. What are the upcoming plans and projects fans will see from you?

I’m working on a lot of new projects currently that will be unveiled in due course of time, but I can’t wait for what’s in store! Super excited to surprise my Armaanians with something new every time.
