MUMBAI: 21-year-old singer-songwriter KASYAP dropped “Dil Ne”.
“Dil Ne” talks about the matters of the heart. “It’s about that one person who is constantly running on your mind. The one who you try to make a conversation with every time you get a chance, just to know them better. You just connect to that person like nobody else before and all you really want to do is make them smile. Talking to them never feels enough. Day by day You slowly realise you’re falling for them”, shares KASYAP.
Initially, the singer planned to release another song which was slightly sad but something about it just didn’t feel right so he ended up writing “Dil Ne” which was exactly what he felt at that moment.
Excited about the release, the singer opened up that “Dil Ne” is inspired by someone who made him feel this way. This was his attempt to pass on his experience and feelings to the world to hear and hopefully feel the same love. “I’ve always wanted to blend Hindi and English lyrics in my songs as I feel like it’s a really good way to pull in global audiences and with ‘Dil Ne’ it’s been so effortless. I truly believe this is the way we take Hindi Pop Music to the Global Stage”.
At a very young age you are on fire! What’s your story?
Growing up I was always drawn towards art, let it be painting, films or music. Art always felt natural to me and that’s exactly what I’m getting to do now. It’s been 5 years since I’ve started making music. I’ve tapped into every lane I could musically like Film Music, Scores, Trailer Music & Pop Music and now it finally started to pay-off!
The love that I received for my first song “khoya sa” was overwhelming and the song also entered the Viral Charts on Spotify. Then a month later, I got my first Hollywood placement for “Spider- Man: No Way Home” where my music was used in TV Spots. Following up with my EP “Notes from Therapy” with Lost Stories and “Beqaaboo Reprise” from “Gehraiyaan”, It’s been a tremendous journey. I’m just glad to get up every single day and do what I absolutely love, which is creating art. My Goals and ambitions are getting bigger day by day and I’ve never been hungrier to do what I love. This is just the beginning.
Lots of exciting things are happening. I’ve signed my first film as a Music Composer here in Tollywood so I’m really looking forward to my film music journey! You can also definitely expect another collaboration soon.
