Singer-composer Prateek Gandhi reveals many TV actors refused to be a part of his latest music video ‘Aabaad’

MUMBAI: Some of the most beautiful songs ever written are sad romantic songs, and Prateek Gandhi’s latest song ‘Aabaad’ is a good example. Even the song’s title is immensely eloquent as well as the lyrics. But the lyrics are true – you can’t make someone’s heart feel something it won’t. The song combines heartfelt lyrics, poignant music video, and melancholic melodies.

Written by Abhendra K Upadhyay, the music video features known Indian TV actors Dheeraj Dhoopar and Aamna Sharif. It is the first time these two stars are coming together for a project. However, Prateek Gandhi has revealed that many actors denied to be a part of this music video.

Gandhi, who has lent his voice as well as composing music for the song, says, “Bringing big names on board for a music video was challenging and difficult as many actors denied to be a part of this music video because the record label is new. Most of them want to work with a known record label. But when I approached Dheeraj, he agreed to be a part of the music video without asking any questions. I just sent him the song and he said yes. I think that's the magic and power of music, it removes boundaries and brings creative and free spirits together. ‘Aabaad’ is very close to my heart and I really enjoyed working on this song.”

He adds, “Dheeraj Dhoopar and Aamna Sharif have done an outstanding job. I cannot imagine anyone else doing this music video. It was great working with them. Although, it was a roller coaster ride as it is our first big song but everyone is so happy working with each other. I’m sure we will work together again soon.”

Produced by Afsana Kherani under the banner of Yellow Strings Entertainment and directed by Pratap & Harish, the song was shot in Udaipur, Rajasthan.
