Blue Exorcist anime sequel reveals official release in 2024

MUMBAI : Get ready for new dark fantastical adventures with Blue Exorcist’s anime sequel that will be releasing in 2024. Blue Exorcist is an anime famous for its intense action with badass characters along with a complicated timeline. The Blue Exorcist anime sequel just dropped a fresh trailer on October 28, 2023. They spilled the news on the release and the animation studio too. The cool opening theme is by UVERworld, the same awesome band from My Hero Academia!

The recent promotional video for the Blue Exorcist anime sequel unveiled the opening theme, titled "Eye's Sentry," performed by UVERworld. Known for their work on My Hero Academia's third season opening theme, "Odd Future," UVERworld is back to set the tone for the new series.

The anime, officially named the Shimane Illuminati Saga, will adapt the storyline from the original manga with the same title. In the brief 30-second trailer, key characters are teased, with a clear focus on protagonists Rin Okumura and his twin brother, Yukio Okumura. Anticipate an exciting journey as the saga unfolds.

The trailer didn't just stop at the theme song revelation, it also dropped a bombshell about the animation studio. Brace yourselves: Studio VOLN will be taking the reins for the new Blue Exorcist series, stepping in for A-1 Pictures, which handled the first two seasons. While some fans are raising eyebrows at the switch, others are downright thrilled to see the series through a fresh animation lens.

For those not in the know, the original manga, crafted by the talented Kazue Kato, made its debut in Shueisha's Jump Square magazine back in April 2009 and continues its regular serialization to this day. With a whopping 29 compilation volumes, all except the 29th are available in both English and Japanese. The manga has truly stood the test of time!
