DLF presents the Jazz India Circuit: Celebrating Brass in Gurugram!

MUMBAI: Prepare for an unforgettable weekend of music and culture, as DLF presents the 7th edition of the Jazz India Circuit (JIC), celebrating the rich and dynamic sounds of brass-heavy jazz! Organized by Teamwork Arts, a leading name in performing arts and entertainment, this much-awaited event promises two evenings of exceptional talent and electrifying performances.

The Jazz India Circuit will take place on 23rd and 24th November 2024 at Horizon Plaza, DLF Sector 63, Gurugram, starting at 6:00 PM and 5:00 PM respectively. Also, feel the bold, smooth flavours of Speyside’s original single malt, The Glenlivet, come alive alongside the fiery, soul-stirring energy of jazz. This collaboration is a celebration of fearless originality and masterful craftsmanship, where the richness of a timeless whisky meets the electrifying pulse of live music. A night that brings together bold spirits - both in a glass and on stage.

A Powerhouse Line-Up

The 7th edition of JIC brings a stellar mix of national and international talent together. Day 1 will kick off with a stunning performance by Tamara l Lukasheva ft. Shri Adarsh Shenoy, followed by the groove-infused tunes of The Revisit Project, and the high-energy beats of The Fanculos.

Day 2 will showcase the eclectic sounds of Imon, the evocative rhythms of Refuge, the experimental artistry of Princely States Dub Orchestra, and the bold brass-driven melodies of the Bollyjazz Big Band.

Artist Profiles

The Revisit Project: Known for their distinctive blend of jazz, funk, and groove, The Revisit Project combines rhythmic jazz with sharp observations on life, love, and politics in India. From rediscovering Hindi film music, to creating original compositions, their albums Here We Go, Brown Man’s Funk, and Born in Delhi have cemented their place as a powerhouse of Indian jazz fusion.

Refuge: Pianist Aman Mahajan’s Refuge explores universal emotions through reflective and evocative compositions. Joined by Apoorva Krishna (violin), Dhani Muniz (bass), and Rohit PS (drums), the group creates immersive musical narratives, inspired by Mahajan’s personal journey.

Princely States Dub Orchestra: Merging ska, dub, and jazz, this New Delhi-based ensemble features members of the acclaimed Skavengers. Their high-energy performances include bold brass arrangements and infectious rhythms, delivering a sound inspired by Jamaican beats and UK ska revival.

Bollyjazz Big Band Jazz Orchestra: Blending the golden era of Bollywood melodies with big-band jazz traditions, Bollyjazz is a 21-piece orchestra featuring trumpets, trombones, saxophones, and dynamic vocals. This unique fusion revives the swing era with a nostalgic yet modern twist.

Tamara Lukasheva ft. Shri Adarsh Shenoy: Ukrainian singer-composer Tamara Lukasheva, known for bridging genres and borders, teams up with tabla maestro Adarsh Shenoy. Together, they create transcendent music that blends cultural roots and improvisational brilliance.

The Fanculos: A six-piece Mumbai-based band led by Ramon Ibrahim, The Fanculos deliver high-energy ska and reggae-inspired performances. Known for their entertaining live shows, they have graced stages at major festivals like NH7 Weekender and Goa Sunsplash.

Imon: Delhi-based singer-songwriter Imon weaves heartfelt narratives about time, change, and second chances. Performing in English and Assamese, his music is deeply lyric-centric, resonating with audiences across India.
