Doja Cat addresses criticism over Oscars performance

MUMBAI: Doja Cat is standing tall in the face of criticism over her recent Oscars performance. The singer, who took the stage alongside Lisa and Raye for a James Bond tribute, acknowledged that her rendition of Shirley Bassey's "Diamonds Are Forever" received mixed reviews. However, she remains proud of her performance, calling it "brave and scary".

In an Instagram post, Doja Cat admitted that nerves got the better of her, causing her to hit some flat notes. Nevertheless, she feels empowered by pushing herself outside of her comfort zone. "I never get to sing like that, and what I did was brave and scary as f**k for me," she wrote.

Doja Cat's performance was part of a larger tribute to the James Bond franchise, which also featured Lisa singing "Live and Let Die" and Raye performing "Skyfall". While some critics felt that the tribute fell flat, Doja Cat remains committed to taking risks and exploring new artistic avenues.

As one of the most talented live performers in music today, Doja Cat has consistently demonstrated her ability to command a stage and connect with audiences. Her Oscars performance may not have been to everyone's taste, but it's clear that she's not letting criticism hold her back.
