Katy Perry returns from space, says “There’s No Place Like Home” after historic all-female flight

MUMBAI: Pop icon Katy Perry made a celestial return to social media on Tuesday after her journey to space, marking her first post since the historic flight. Sharing her joy on X, she wrote, “There’s no place like home,” alongside a heart and Earth emoji—signaling her relief and happiness to be back on solid ground.

On Monday, Perry joined five other remarkable women in making history as part of the first all-female space crew in over 60 years. The group flew aboard Blue Origin’s New Shepard NS-31 mission, reaching more than 65 miles (105 kilometers) above Earth’s surface.

Joining Perry on the 11-minute suborbital flight were Lauren Sanchez (fiancée of Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos), civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, journalist Gayle King, and former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe. The rocket launched from West Texas, offering the crew a brief but unforgettable experience of weightlessness before safely returning.

During her time in space, Perry added a personal and emotional touch by singing “What a Wonderful World,” making the moment even more iconic.

The mission stands as a milestone in both space tourism and gender representation in aerospace, with Perry’s presence drawing global attention to the evolving frontiers of human spaceflight.
