Manoranjan Media Group appoints Alok Saxena as CEO to lead Ishq FM’s New Growth Chapter

MUMBAI: Manoranjan Media Group has named Alok Saxena as the new Chief Executive Officer of Ishq FM, following its acquisition of the popular radio brand from the India Today Group. This strategic move marks a pivotal step as the company sets out to refresh the station’s identity and strengthen listener engagement in its core markets.

With over three decades of expertise in media advertising and revenue generation, Saxena brings deep operational knowledge and industry insight. His leadership track record includes spearheading advertising sales and developing monetization strategies at leading networks such as Red FM and other prominent national media houses. His appointment comes at a transformative time, as radio broadcasters work to evolve their formats and remain culturally relevant in today’s digital era.

“We are excited to have Alok lead this dynamic new phase for Ishq FM,” said Sahib Chopra, Director at Manoranjan TV Group. “His success in scaling brands and revitalizing content platforms makes him the ideal choice for our ambitious vision. We’re committed to shaping a future-ready radio brand centered around entertainment, and Alok’s leadership will be key to realizing this mission.”

In his new role, Saxena will spearhead programming innovation, drive audience growth, and align advertiser strategies across Ishq FM’s presence in Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata, where it broadcasts on 104.8 MHz. He will also lead the development of content strategies that reinforce the station’s youthful, music-driven identity.

Speaking on his appointment, Saxena remarked, “Radio is transforming, and Ishq FM has a powerful emotional bond with urban listeners. I’m excited to design a format that not only delivers great music but also builds storytelling platforms, fosters community engagement, and reimagines the radio experience.”

Renowned for its romantic music lineup and charismatic RJs like Lucky, Sapna, and Soumak, Ishq FM is poised for a period of expansion under Manoranjan’s stewardship. The station is expected to focus on regional content innovation, digital synergy, and strategic brand collaborations.

This acquisition and leadership change highlight a larger industry shift, as traditional radio stations restructure to adapt to the evolving media consumption patterns of Gen Z and millennial audiences.
