2025 American Music Awards set for May 26: J.Lo to host and perform

MUMBAI: The 2025 American Music Awards (AMAs) are set to take place on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, in a fan-powered celebration of music’s biggest stars. The event kicks off at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT and will be broadcast live on CBS. Viewers can also stream it in real time on Paramount+ with SHOWTIME. For those without cable, a Paramount+ premium subscription provides live access, while the basic tier allows for on-demand viewing after the broadcast.

Jennifer Lopez will serve as both host and performer for the evening. Music legends Janet Jackson and Rod Stewart will also take the stage—Jackson will be honored with the prestigious Icon Award, while Stewart will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The performance lineup includes a mix of chart-toppers and icons, with appearances from Benson Boone, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Lainey Wilson, Reneé Rapp, and Gloria Estefan.

A-list presenters and celebrity guests will add to the star power. Those presenting awards and introducing performances include Alix Earle, Cara Delevingne, Ciara, Dan + Shay, Dylan Efron, Jordan Chiles, Kai Cenat, Megan Moroney, Nikki Glaser, Shaboozey, Tiffany Haddish, and Wayne Brady.

Leading the pack in nominations is Kendrick Lamar with 10 nods. He’s followed closely by Post Malone, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, and Shaboozey. Major categories include Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year.

Top contenders for Artist of the Year include Lamar, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, and Ariana Grande. Beyoncé, Eilish, and Swift are among the frontrunners for Album of the Year, while Song of the Year features tracks by Kendrick Lamar, Benson Boone, and Shaboozey. Additional honors like Collaboration of the Year and Social Song of the Year spotlight a diverse range of artists and genres, promising an exciting and inclusive night in music.
