MUMBAI: What do Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Aditya Narayan and T-Series have in common? Well, the fact is they have all led to the creation of the young heart stopping singer-actor-music composer’s debut independent album.
It was on Leela Bhansali’s sets of ‘Ram Leela’ – where Narayan was working as an AD till November 2013 - that the idea germinated to launch a solo album, which the peppy talent has gone ahead to complete. Once he got his act together, he roped in Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series to distribute and market the album. And then he released the first single ‘Tu Hi Pyaar Hai’ in end- May on streaming website Saavn. The video is available on YouTube. It has been directed by Faraz Ali and produced by Narayan.
For the young singer, the album tentatively titled ‘Mohabbat’ is more a labour of love. And he says it is all about the art of music, not about the moolah.
Says he, “Bhushanji has been really kind to me. I have even requested T-Series to give away the album for free to fans. I just want people to listen and watch my video. 10 lakh people watching my video is more important to me than the money. As far as money is concerned, I do 10 shows in a year and that gets me a lot of money.”
‘Mohabbat’ is slated to have eight songs, two videos of which have already been shot. Two more videos will be shot sometime in August in Thailand, and the last one will be shot in India in September. The first video has already been released. While Narayan has penned and composed music for some of the songs, he has collaborated with other lyricists and music composers for the others. Among them feature: Harshit Chauhan, Prashant Ingole, Ankit Shah, Semal Bhat, Chirantan Bhatt, Manoj Yadav and Arijit Chakraborty.
Narayan is looking forward to releasing the next single on his birthday, which is on 6 August (are all his fans reading this?), titled ‘Tera Ishq Jee Paaun’. The third single ‘Main Dooba Raha’ will release sometime in September this year.
On choosing the love theme he states, “Love is the reason of our existence. I believe that my purpose in life is to love everything and everyone. And spread the message of love in the universe.”
The album has taken all of almost two years to bring out. What took him so long? Pat comes his reply, “I was busy setting up my studio and getting multifaceted people – like a guitarist that can play a keyboard, etc – onboard to get the work on my album started in 2014. So, I managed to complete all of that by end of 2014. Currently I have a team of 10 people and we are working on some great music.”
True. Fans seem to be agreeing with Aditya’s claim that the debut independent single is indeed great. The YouTube video for ‘Tu Hi Pyaar Hai’ has got half a million views, with mostly girls expressing their fan love for it. That has been music to his ears and he has individually thanked each of them for liking the track.
The 27-year-old can be seen in his jeans and boots riding his Harley Davidson on the streets of Mumbai soaking in all the sounds these days. That is when he is not in his studio, making some more music, which he hopes will connect with young and old lovers alike. “After all isn’t that the way love goes,” he says with a twinkle in his eyes.
Songs to feature in the album are ‘Zindagi’ (Composer:Harshit Chauhan, Lyricist: Prashant Ingole), ‘Mohabbat’ (Composer & Lyricist: Aditya Narayan), Behka Behka (Composer & Lyricist: Aditya Narayan), Main Dooba Raha (Composer:Ankit Shah, Lyricist: Semal Bhat), Tu Hi Pyaar Hai (Composer: Chirantan Bhatt, Lyricist: Manoj Yadav), Tera Ishq Jee Paaun (Composer:Arijit Chakraborty, Lyricist: Manoj Yadav), Subah Ki Pehli Kiran (Composer: Aditya Narayan, Lyricist: Manoj Yadav)and Tere Bina (Composer: Ankit Shah, Lyricist: Manoj Yadav).
