MUMBAI: After a year of breath taking performances by the tinsel town folk, the season for awards is finally here. The nominees for the Star Guild Awards 2014 have been released, and leading the pack are singers Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal, who have been nominated for Best Singer Male and Best Singer Female, respectively.
The 'Best Male Singer' category has seven entries. 'Tum Hi Ho' famed Arijit Singh has bagged three nominations for the songs 'Raat Bhar' from 'Herpanti', 'Samjhava' from 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya' and 'Humdard' from 'Ek Villain' alongside Labh Janjua, Sukhwinder Singh, Ankit Tiwari and Shaan.
Shreya Ghoshal, meanwhile, has been nominated for 'Raat Bhar' from 'Heropanti', 'Samjhava' from 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya', 'Maanwa lage' from 'Happy New Year' and 'Char Kadam' from 'PK' alongside Kanika Kapoor and Sultana & Jyoti Nooran.
The 'Best Lyrics' category has six nominations- newbie Rashmi Singh bagged a nomination for the soothing number 'Muskurane' from the film 'Citylights' with Anvita Dutt, Kummar, Manoj Muntashir and Swanand Kirkire. Others included in the category are Kummar, Irshad Kamil, Anvita Dutt, Swanand Kirkire and Manoj Muntashir.
The 'Best Music' category has seven nominations with AR Rahman, Amit Tirvedi, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Himesh Reshamiya, Vishal Bharadwaj, Ankit Tiwari and Meet Brothers.
