MUMBAI: With singers like Ankit Tiwari and a few others from the music industry, planning to release singles, 'Badtamez Dil' singer Benny Dayal is also jumping on the bandwagon. Dayal revealed that he is currently working on three singles for the last three months, however, did not state when the tracks will be out.
"Very often it has been said that Benny can only sing peppy and up-tempo numbers. I would not say this is a complete opposite, but this genre is something that you have never heard me sing before. I am working on three singles, but I cannot tell you the time frame of the releases, as I am juggling with a lot of live performances and other Bollywood projects. I describe my singles as edgy, which will maintain the commerciality," revealed Dayal.
For him "variety is the spice of life," which is why the 31-year old has always attempted to sound different in each of his songs. "I want people to wonder who has recorded the song, rather than them recognising my voice. If you listen to the songs I have sung previously, and the more recent ones, I sound different. This is my primary aim as I like keeping my voice fresh," he elucidated. Dayal has also rendered his vocals for a couple of songs, 'Hold My Hand' and 'Nach Meri Jaan Nach' from the movie 'ABCD 2', of which the latter was faster to record. The music of the film is composed by Sachin Jigar and the lyrics of the songs are written by Mayur Puri.
According to Dayal, Sachin and Jigar have different visions, but the way both their ideas come together is what makes the duo stand out. "Both of them are fun to be with and the best thing about them is that they allow your identity to remain intact," he added.
Unlike many other singers, Dayal does not take creative freedom unless been asked to do so, or when a composer asks him to simply be himself.
