MUMBAI: The red carpet will soon be rolled out for one of India's most prestigious award ceremonies- the 60th Britannia Filmfare Awards 2014. Nominations for the same include names like Ankit Tiwari, Arijit Singh and Kausar Munir. However, a prominent name to have missed out on the nominations is AR Rahman, who composed and sang for 'Highway'.
Tiwari has been nominated in two categories- 'Best Playback Singer (Male)' for 'Galliyan' in the film 'Ek Villain', and for 'Best Music', which he will share with Mithoon and Soch Band for the same music. In the Best Music category , the trio will face competition from Amit Trivedi for 'Queen', Himesh Reshammiya, Meet Bros Anjjan and Honey Singh for 'Kick' and Shankar Ehsaan Loy for '2 States'. Mithoon has also been nominated in the same category along with Pritam, Anupam Amod, Arko Pravo Mukherjee and Honey Singh for 'Yaariyan'.
Kausar Munir has been nominated for 'Best Lyrics' for the song 'Suno na sangemarmar' from the film 'Youngistaan'. Other nominations in the same category include Amitabh Bhattacharya for 'Zehnaseeb' from 'Hasee Toh Phasee', Gulzar for 'Bismil' from 'Haider', Irshad Kamil for 'Patakha Guddi' from 'Highway' and Rashmi Singh for 'Muskurane ki wajah' from 'CityLights'.
'Tum Hi Ho' famed singer Arijit Singh is nominated twice in the 'Best Singer Male' category for 'Mast Magan' from the film '2 States' and 'Suno na sangemarmar' from 'Youngistaan'. The other nominations include Ankit Tiwari, Benny Dayal for 'Loocha -E- Ulfat' from '2 States' and Shekhar Ravjiani for 'Zehnaseeb' from 'Hasee Toh Phasee'.
The 'Best Singer Female' nominations include Kanika Kapoor for 'Baby Doll' from the film 'Ragini MMS', Rekha Bhardwaj for 'Humari Atariya Pe' from 'Dedh Ishqiya' , Shreya Ghoshal for 'Manwa lage' from 'Happy New Year' and Sona Mahapatra for 'Naina' from 'Khoobsurat'.
