MUMBAI: A ‘happily ever after’ story is about to end. ‘The Sweet Escape’ singer Gwen Stefani announced that she will soon end her 13 year marriage with her musician and actor husband, Gavin Rossdale.

The couple that tied the knot in 2002, have three sons together – Kingston, nine, Zuma, who turns seven later this month, and 17-month-old Apollo.

In a joint statement to the press the couple said, "While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment."

Stefani filed her petition for divorce on 2 August at Los Angeles, Superior Court and she cited irreconcilable differences for their split, according to TMZ. Rossdale too filed his response at the same time.

There have also been rumours of infidelity on Rossdale’s part. In fact, the marital path got rockier in 2010 for the couple when Courtney Love opened up about having sex with Rossdale on the ‘Howard Stern Show’.

TMZ also reported that there is no prenup agreement between the couple. So the 50/50 California community property laws will be applied in this case. 45-year-old Stefani is worth a reported $80 million, while Rossdale, 49, is worth an estimated $35 million. Given the length of the marriage, that will probably all go into one pot before it is divided.
