MUMBAI: Replacing singer Frank Ocean, rapper Kanye West will headline the FYF music festival in Los Angeles this weekend, officials have announced.
The announcement was made via Twitter on Thursday, confirming that West would play on Saturday night.
Another tweet from the festival’s account read that Ocean had cancelled his headlining appearance, but did not disclose a reason for his absence. According to the event website, Ocean cancelled the gig “on his own terms".
The addition of West in the line-up represents a massive boost in star power for FYF. Other scheduled performers for the two-day festival include Morrissey, D’Angelo and the Vanguard, FKA Twigs, Chet Faker, Flume, Belle & Sebastian, Bloc Party and Run the Jewels.
FYF will take place at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena and Exposition Park on 22-23 August .
In the past, West had headlined at the Glastonbury Festival and faced lot of criticism for his lip-sync at the fest and rock-star comment.
