MUMBAI: After bringing international music acts like German rock band Go Go Berlin and British bands Foreign Beggars and The Virginmarys to India, LIVE Viacom18's EMERGE will launch itself with its first ever music festival in the form of a day-long concert. The EMERGE Music and Arts Festival will be held on 28 February in Gurgaon and 1 March in Bangalore. The multi-dimensional experience at EMERGE is said to comprise stunning installations, live art events, sculptures and more.
Grammy Award nominated alternative rock band alt-J will perform alongside BRIT Award Winning electronic rock act Rudimental. Virtuoso hang-drum player Daniel Waples featuring The Petebox will also join the music line-up of the EMERGE Music and Arts Festival. In Gurgaon, the bands will be joined by New Delhi-based rock band Advaita, while in Bangalore, rock-outfit Parvaaz will be join the headlining acts.
Commenting on EMERGE Music and Arts Festival, Viacom18 Senior Vice President and Business Head – INS Jaideep Singh said in a statement, "At LIVE Viacom18, we always aim at going beyond norms and experiment with new forms of music and entertainment. In India, live concerts and dance music have evolved and we can see people's affinity to art as well. We challenged the norm with our flagship property Vh1Supersonic last year. This year, by blending music and art, two of the most creative forms of expression, we envision a new experience for the creative soul. The response in the past two years has been overwhelming and I am certain that this year will be exceptional."
This marks LIVE Viacom18's fourth intellectual property after MTV Bollyland, Nickelodean Kids Choice Awards and VH1 Supersonic. EMERGE had previously also brought international acts like folk guitarist Jeremy Loops from South Africa, American rock band Dinner and a Suit, British bass music collective Engine-Earz featuring Asa, British DJ Dismantle and more recently, UK rock band- These Reigning Days to India.
