MUMBAI: At the Sunburn Arena concert held in Mumbai on Sunday, 2 November, Dutch EDM artiste Martin Garrix revealed that his recent collaboration with Ed Sheeran will be released sometime between January and February 2015.
Garrix, who is famed for the chart topper 'Animals', said the collaboration, titled 'Rewind Repeat It', "will be released by February next year. It was a lot of fun working with Ed on the collaboration. It was interesting. I have added my style of music to the track and he has added his. It is a really good track and I am excited to see what it does."
Back in August, the 'Thinking Out Loud' singer took to Instagram to write about his experience working with Garrix. "Finished up my very first EDM song with Martin Garrix, brilliant experience, looking forward to you all hearing it," posted Sheeran on his Instagram account, along with a photograph of him and Garrix in the recording studio.
'Rewind Repeat It' marks the first time Garrix has collaborated with an acoustic folk/pop musician. It will also be Sheeran's first collaboration with an EDM artiste, despite having already worked with musicians from various other genres like hip hop artiste Lupe Fiasco and country/pop star Taylor Swift on the tracks 'Old School Love' and 'Everything Has Changed' respectively.
In addition to his track with the BRIT Award winner, another one of Garrix's collaborations will also be released in 2015. His second collaboration of 2015 is with the Dutch music producer Hardwell. Hardwell has previously worked with W&W, Nicky Romero, Laidback Luke and Tiësto.
Along with Garrix, the 8th season of Sunburn kicked off on Saturday, 1 November in Delhi with supporting acts that include Lost Stories, Sartek, Ralvero and Matisse & Sadko.
Garrix is currently working on new tracks for his upcoming full length studio album. However, he stated that he is unsure about when it will be released.
