A R Rahman's mother unveils 'Yuvvraaj's music

MUMBAI: Known to be Subhash Ghai's most ambitious project till date, multistarrer Yuvvraaj's music was launched under the T-Series label at a suburban hotel in Mumbai on Thursday. Though the multi-star cast of the film was not in attendance, the man behind the much anticipated film's music A R Rahman was present with his mother Karima Begum, who officially launched the music of the film along with lyricist Gulzar and director Subhash Ghai.

Big FM brings back Raju Srivastav

MUMBAI: Big FM's celeb jock Raju Srivastav, who held on to the 7 am to 10 am slot for some months from February 2008, returns to Big this Diwali. Srivastav, whose comic capers were carried as capsules even on Singapore's Asian FM which has a deal with Big FM, will begin his new innings starting 20 October. In his earlier avatar, Srivastav used to share the morning slot with RJs Archana Jani and Vrajesh Hirjee, who quit the station in March 2008.

Nepal gets first FM in Tharu language

MUMBAI: Nepal has got its first Community FM radio station, with the Tharu language as its main mode of communication. The station has been established in Bansgadi area of Bardia District, Nepal. Christened Guru-Baba FM, the station, inaugurated on 14 October, will transmit all its programmes in the Tharu language using a 100 W transmitter in 106.4 Mhz frequency, says in the report in the Telegraph Nepal, quoting station in charge, Pushpa Chaudhary. The station was inaugurated by the Maoists' CA member Bishnu Chaudhary. the report adds.

Jon Bon Jovi sued for $400 billion

MUMBAI: Jon Bon Jovi is being sued for $400 billion by a Boston musician, Samuel Bartley Steele. Steele, who fronts the 'Chelsea City Council' band has accused Bon Jovi of stealing lyrics from his song '(Man I Really) Love This Team'. Samuel Bartley Steele, the front man for a band, believes Bon Jovi heard his song while campaigning in Boston for John Kerry in '04 then used the lyrics in his own song entitled, 'I Love This Town'

Junglee Music pockets rights of two films

MUMBAI: Times Music sub brand Junglee Music has bagged the music rights of One More Thought Entertainment's two films, �Dusvidaniya' and �Khalbali - Fun Unlimited' slated to release later this year. Junglee's last acquistion was Rimi Sen, Nana Patekar and Mozammil Ibrahim starrer Horn Ok Please. Lounge Piranha release new album

BANGLORE: After a year or more of planning, dreaming, hoping and praying, the wait is finally over for Bangalore band Lounge Piranha. After two months of rigorous recording sessions in a studio in Chennai, the band finally launched their much awaited album, Going Nowhere, on 12 October. Amidst the ban on live bands and music in the city, LP still managed to pull a decent crowd of approximately 150 at the Alliance de Fran?§ais. The album is a seven song EP recorded and produced by Noam from Tel Aviv under the name of Mongrel Records.
