MUMBAI: Ozzy Osbourne has been announced as the special highlight for the second day of the Voodoo Music + Arts Experience music fest. He will be taking the stage on Saturday, 31 October in New Orleans with fellow Black Sabbath band mate Geezer Butler on bass, former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash and former Audioslave band member-Tom Morello.
Reports reveal that the unnamed group’s Halloween performance is scheduled to be their only appearance in North America; however there are plans to tour abroad. While the self-proclaimed Prince of Darkness performs on Halloween in one of America’s spookiest towns, fans of Black Sabbath are holding out for the final Black Sabbath album and tour.
In September last year, vocalist Osbourne told Metal Hammer magazine that Black Sabbath would begin work on their 20th and final studio album in early 2015 with producer Rick Rubin. He also told them that the band will promote the album with a final tour sometime in 2016. However, in April 2015, Osbourne said that these plans could change, and added, “We all live in different countries and some of them want to work and some of them do not want to, I believe. But we are going to do another tour together."
This year, the three-day Voodoo Music + Arts Experience, which started in 1999, boasts an eclectic line-up of artists that includes Florence + the Machine, Zac Brown Band, Deadmau5, Chance the Rapper, Santigold, Alesso and Jack U. It will take place at the Festival Grounds in City Park.
