MUMBAI: One of country's foremost independent rock bands, Pentagram, has announced an indefinite hiatus, right before they were set to perform at the Kolkata edition of Bacardi NH7 Weekender on 2 November.
The four piece group which includes Vishal Dadlani as the vocalist, Randolph Correia aka Func as guitarist, Papal Mane as bassist and drummer Shiraz Bhattacharya, was lined-up to perform at all the editions of this year's Weekender music festival for their Pentagram Unplugged Tour 2014.
Initially, the band that is managed by OML, posted on Facebook on 31 October saying, "Due to unavoidable reasons, @PENT4GRAM will NOT be performing at #NH7Weekender in Kolkata on the 2nd. Apologies to fans, friends, & OML."
It was followed by another post and tweet, on 2 November, which read, "Pentagram is on indefinite hiatus, due to differences-in-opinion. There is great love and mutual respect amongst the guys, but certain "administrative issues" are a problem. As of now, all shows for this season stand cancelled. We will keep you informed about the future course of the band. Much love, and many thanks for the good times!"
The news means the band will not be able to perform at any of the venues of the NH7 music festival. Although they could not find another act for the Kolkata edition, the organisers are currently working on replacing Pentagram's act slots with other artistes/bands.
