MUMBAI: They were labeled 'hit machine' in the year 2014. With projects like 'Happy Ending', 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya' and 'Finding Fanny', music composer duo Sachin-Jigar has made their presence felt. Along with their Bollywood projects, the two also appeared on reality dance TV show- ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa’ and then crooned a few of their numbers on ‘MTV Unplugged’ along with Priya Saraiya.
“It just feels like we started yesterday and we have a long way to go. With each day, we try and better ourselves and this is our ultimate aim. Our work receiving appreciation is the best feeling, but at the same time I feel we have just begun. We are extremely elated with the kind of the space we have got in Bollywood,” said Jigar Saraiya of the Sachin-Jigar duo.
The two recently composed songs for the Varun Dhawan, Huma Qureshi and Yami Gautam starrer ‘Badlapur’. It took them about six months to compose the five tracks from the film. “More than the ideation, the execution took longer, as we had to wait for Arijit Singh and Rekha Bhardwaj, but yes, it was fun recording with them,” explain Sachin Sanghvi.
Priya Saraiya has penned the lyrics for all the tracks. “The brief given to us was very clear. Since the film has a dark flavour, the music should connect with the people. We were asked to compose melodies which the audience could hum. The best part is that we share a very good rapport with Maddock Films, having done films like ‘Go Goa Gone’ and ‘Finding Fanny’. They also knew the kind of work we did and gave us complete creative freedom but simultaneously keeping the brief in our minds,” added Sanghvi.
In 2014, the duo had also composed an album for the Gujarati film ‘Bey Yaar’. When asked if they will be composing for a film in any other language this year too, Sanghvi said, “For the next three months we are concentrating completely on the film ‘ABCD 2- Any Body Can Dance 2’ as everything about this film is magnified. I mean from the previous version of the film itself we had set our benchmark and now everyone is expecting something big to happen. For the next three months we will be busy with this project.”
The movie ‘ABCD 2-Any Body Can Dance 2’ stars Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor. The film is the sequel of ‘ABCD- Any Body Can Dance’ and is shot in New York.
