Shahid Mallya feels emoting the right feelings is very important

MUMBAI: 'Iski Uski' singer Shahid Mallya recently sung two tracks- ‘Sahebaan’ and ‘Guddu Rangeela- Remix’ for the recently released Bollywood film ‘Guddu Rangeela’. The music of the film has been composed by ‘Ishqzaade’ composer Amit Trivedi, and lyrics penned by Irshad Kamil. The Arshad Warsi and Aditi Rao Hydari starrer marks the second time Mallya has worked with Trivedi.

“It is always great working with Amit Trivedi as he is a very hardworking composer. Once he starts working, there is no looking back; he will finish his task come what may, and regardless of time. He puts his heart into the work,” said Mallya, of working with the award winning composer.

One thing that he learnt from Trivedi was putting out the right emotions in songs and putting in extra effort. Talking about his songs in the film Mallya said, “The brief was nothing actually. Amit just wanted me to be myself and once you read the lyrics of the song, you automatically get what the composer expects you to deliver,” he added. According to him, delivering the right kind of emotions is very important because anyone can sing a song, but it is the singer’s emotions that make it better.

Mallya will soon be seen performing a concert- ‘ElektroSufi’ on 5th July, 2015 at Inorbit, Malad at 6:30 pm. The ElektroSufi Concert, which is a fusion of progressive electronica and Sufi, is a property of Go Live Events. “Usually, Sufi is something that teaches you a lot about life. When you talk about the genre, the instruments are very traditional. But today, a large portion of youth love EDM, electronic and metal. To cater to this section of the youth, Go Live has developed the concept. I personally love performing live,” he added.

Music producer, DJ and Tabla maestro, Arkane will also be joining Mallya on stage for the concert. His other upcoming projects include a couple of songs in 'Fraud Saiyaan' and music of the film is composed by Sohail Sen.
