These Reigning Days to start work on new album

MUMBAI: English rock band These Reigning Days are back in their homeland, after a maiden trip to India. During their India tour, the three-piece band played at Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi from 22-24 January 2015.

Now that the band is back in England, it will start working on a brand new album that will include material inspired from the India visit. The band's members- Dan Steer (songwriter, lead vocals, keys, guitar), Joe Sansome (drums), and Jonny Finnis (vocals, bass), will be working on a very complex album. Steer revealed that "it will be different" adding, "It is going be more ballad, and will have a happy-ending."

Talking about the upcoming 12 or more track album, Steer said that as their new album is going to be more complex, so they will have to add a new session member, but it would be just for the album. "We are planning to make more complex music and we will not be able to do it ourselves."

The album will be released under Indie record label Ecco Recordings. Steer also offered to share his view about being signed under the label company and his future. He stated, "It will be under the same recording company, as it is working well for us so we will continue with them."

When quizzed about any future collaboration, he revealed, "There are few female singers who I would love to work with. I am doing some song writing for other artistes. It would be amazing to collaborate with somebody like Ellie Goulding." Asked if talks are on with Ellie Goulding, he stated, "There are few possibilities on the horizon but I would probably land in trouble if I said anything."

The band was quite pleased with the hospitality they received in India, stated Steer. "We will head back home, but we plan to come back to India on vacation." He added, "Everyone has been very amazing and so kind to us in India. We had a nice walk around Mumbai and in a day, I have got some lyrical inspiration from the city for our new material. I cannot wait to go home and start writing new stuff. It will have a lot of highs and lows." After a week break, the band will head to America and Europe for a few gigs, after which they will be seen playing at a few festivals in Europe and UK.

These Reigning Days revealed that last year was very exciting as they released their debut album 'Opera of Love', which received a good response. The album's main single 'Thrones' was also used by EA Games for FIFA 2015.

Steer, who was with the band 'The Quails' before 'These Reiging Days',  believes that he has evolved mentally, physically and musically. "I have evolved drastically but you have to change according to time and make yourself more current and fresh," he concluded.
