MUMBAI: Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag will be seen on ‘Indian Idol Junior’ this week to promote his school ‘Sehwag International School & Sports Academy’. The theme for upcoming episode of Indian Idol Junior is based on ‘Parents’.

There will certainly be a few nostalgic moments for Sehwag on the set. The ‘Indian Idol Junior’ team will run AVs featuring Sehwag’s parents and kids, as they talk about Sehwag -the affectionate son and doting father, respectively. The cricketer and his family also spoke about the show and their favourite contestants- Vaishnav Girish and Ananya Nanda. The Sehwag family hopes that they make it to final, after Yumna Ajin was eliminated last week.

Sehwag and his children are big fans of the show, he said. He also added that he is a regular viewer of the show, and thinks that it is a great platform to promote his school, which will also be a platform for many kids in the coming years.

Out of 13 contestants, nine have now made it to next round. These include Ranita Banerjee, Niharika Nath, Ajay Bhirjwasi, Vaishnav Girish, Ananya Sritam Nanda, Nahid Afrin, Srilakshmi Belmannu, Moti Khan and Nithyashree Venkataramanan.

‘Indian Idol Junior’ was launched on 30 May, 2015 and has names like Vishal Dadlani, Sonakshi Sinha, and Salim Merchant, on the judging panel. The show is hosted by Asha Negi Hussain Kuwajerwala, and it airs on Saturdays and Sundays at 8:30 pm.
