Music Canada thrusts Copyright reform bill

MUMBAI: The long overdue copyright legislation �Bill C-32' has been tabled before the Canadian Government once again by Music Canada. Music Canada, formerly known as the Canadian Recording Industry Association, proposed the legislative committee reviewing Bill C-32 in March 2011. The bill was projected by artistes Loreena McKennitt and Maia Davies along with representatives of the Canadian Independent Music Association and the Canadian Council of Music Industry Associations.

MJ's lead Guitarist strums for Rahman's Rockstar

MUMBAI: Michael Jackson's lead guitarist Orianthi Panagaris has strummed music with Oscar winning composer AR Rahman for Imtiaz Ali's forthcoming film Rockstar. �Orianthi Panagaris' has collaborated for the track �Saadda Haq,' which was recorded in Rahman's Los Angeles studio for six hours. A source from the team said, "While Rahman and Imtiaz had shortlisted several Indian and international musicians, they had Orianthi on the top of their list; given her incredible body of work and her huge international success."

CAT seeks govt response on Prasar Bharati union de-recognition petition

NEW DELHI: The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has sought the Government's response on the petition filed by employees' associations challenging their de-recognition by Prasar Bharati. A bench comprising Member Judicial Meera Chhibber and Member Administration Dr A K Misra directed the government to reply by 17 October on the plea of the employees for derecognising their unions.

MUMBAI: To celebrate 82nd birthday of the nightingale of India, Saregama has released music legend Lata Mangeshkar's marathi album �Samagra'. �Samagra', a 17 CD pack is a collection of 345 marathi songs, in the divine voice of Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar.
