MUMBAI: Some people are just iconic and even getting a glimpse of them can change one's universe; Lata Mangeshkar is one amongst them. This nightingale of Bollywood music industry was and still is sensational Bollywood singer Sunidhi Chauhan’s universe. In fact, the singer participated in a reality show as a youngster just to get a glimpse of Bholi Si Surat singer.

Chauhan was discovered on Meri Aawaz Suno, a singing reality show on Doordarshan. The singer and her father never believed in participating in such kind of shows. But one day Chauhan got to know that Mangeshkar would be the judge at the mega finale of the show. Thus, she convinced her father to let her participate on the show just to get a glimpse of her idol, Chauhan participated and won the show.

“When I was announced the winner, Lata Ji so sweetly gave me the trophy, wiped my tears and said ‘Tumhe kisi bhi cheez ki zarurat ho toh mujhe bolna’ and those were the golden words for me to have the rest of my life,” said the Gun Gun Guna singer.

“I feel small of the smallest person in front of her, it does not feel like reality," added the soon to be a mother who wishes for a baby girl.
