MUMBAI: After an action packed week of business conferences, cultural nights, fashion show and Bollywood performances the Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC) hosted the closing ceremony for the 36th edition of Asian Racing Conference (ARC). The night was a starry affair with the best music and live entertainment.
The closing ceremony began with a speech from Mr. Winfried Engelbrecht- Bresges, Chairman of Asian Racing Federation (ARF) as he felicitated Dr. Poonawalla with a trophy for his outstanding contribution. Following the tradition, Dr. Cyrus Poonawalla, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of 36th Asian Racing Conference (ARC) waived off the flag and handed it over to Mr. Park Yang Tae, Mr. Heo Tae Yung Ben and Mr. Jung Tae from South Korea. The 37th edition of ARC will be held in the country of South Korea. On the occasion of the closing ceremony, Dr. Poonawalla said, “Special thanks to all the members of the Organizing Committee of 36th Asian Racing Conference .36th ARC wouldn't have been a success without the dedication and hardwork of all the members. We are very proud to have hosted the conference in India after 20 years.“
Embellished with an opulent set-up, the closing ceremony followed the theme of Bollywood night. The closing ceremony was spiced up with an array of dance numbers ranging from the classical era to the new age. The contemporary dance and Bollywood DJ session, made the Bollywood night a glamorous affair.
Shankar Mahadevan entertained the delegates with popular songs along with a live band performance. He literally set the stage on fire with his enchanting voice. To show the international delegates how Bollywood has adapted dance style from different dance forms like Hollywood, cabre, hip-hop, disco, jazz and contemporary, a dance performance was put together by the popular Loginus Fernandes and his dance troupe. Augmenting the spirit of the event a phenomenal closing ceremony concluded with a fireworks show.
