MUMBAI: For some of boundless creativity like long-standing friend Sander Van Doorn, that’s no trouble at all especially when your Purple Haze alter ego is bringing you so much inspiration. For this year’s comp, he’s provided the stunning Bergen inspired and written in the Dutch town of the same name.
Bergen is one of the most bombastic, colorful Purple Haze tracks today, fizzing with life and energy. Vocodered vox introduce the track before a hard-edged electro/techno monotone bass rhythm pummels its way through the speakers. The drop brings it all together, majestic melody unfolding over widescreen atmospherics. The radio edit will undoubtedly leave you wanting more, so it’s a good thing there’s an extended version too.
Sander tested out the track alongside Armin Van Buuren during his pool party at the SLS Hotel in Miami a couple of weeks back and the reactions were nothing short of spectacular. Look out for this one alongside some very good company on the ASOT compilation, out this week.
Purple Haze Bergen is released as part of ‘A State Of Trance 2018’ mixed by Armin Van Buuren, out on Armada on 6 April.
