MUMABI: Two weeks after ending releasing his first track in 18 months, electronica producer Dualist Inquiry put out another track on Friday, Fever Dream.
Released on his own label, Dualism Records, Fever Dream continues the new sonic journey that the Delhi-based producer finds himself on. Like Mayday, Fever Dream is packed with samples manipulated and chopped to tell a story.
“Mayday and Fever Dream are two chapters from a larger body of work that draws from personal experience,” says Sahej Bakshi aka Dualist Inquiry. “Fever Dream attempts to capture the vividness of a wild dream, one that rivals the intensity of a real-life experience. I used bells, voices, found sound samples and a variety of synthesisers to stitch together a glitchy, crowded and fast-moving tapestry of sounds. You'll find samples of children playing, adults fighting, the sound of a forest at night and a variety of electronic items being destroyed,” he adds.
The artwork for the release has been done by Sijya Gupta.
The new track is available on Dualist Inquiry channels on Soundcloud, Bandcamp, YouTube as well as leading music stores like Apple Music, Saavn, Amazon Music and Spotify from 4 May.
