MUMBAI: ‘The Tuning Folks’, a group of extremely motivated medical consultants and are passionate about Hindi film music. Led by founder of the group, Urologist Dr Anil M. Bradoo, the medically busy team are senior achievers and teachers in their respective fields. They utilize music not only as a mode of enjoyment but also to spread health awareness of medical conditions or a socially relevant cause  in the community and bring joy to lives.

The audience has been very receptive and through the medium of music health awareness is spread effectively. In the journey that began in 2012 The Tuning Folks have  performed live on TV ( Sahyadri doordarshan) , two being live ! They have been invited by medical bodies outside Mumbai to perform at Benares, Delhi, Aurangabad, Pune and Cuttack.

The doctors are from various specialities like Urology, ophthalmology, Pathology, Plastic surgery, Gynaecology, Anaesthesia, Cardiology and Dentistry and perform free of charge. ‘The Tuning Folks’ have devoted programs to causes like Cancer care, Organ donation, Skin donation, Autism, Diabetes, Congenital heart defect repair surgeries, Care of the girl child, Child sexual abuse  among others.

The group does not profess to be professional singers but definitely put in their best to connect to the listeners in a holistic, entertaining way.The most gratifying part of their journey has been the listeners coming up after programs to say that they have taken up a passion they always wanted to be it singing, painting or writing !

This six year old group is performing their fiftieth show on 26 May, 2018 at The Fine Arts Society, Chembur Mumbai.
