MUMBAI: With previous smashes like Wavey and their excellent remix of Martin Garrix and David Guetta’s So Far Away, CLiQ are very much ones to watch. It’s no surprise, then, that Garrix has snapped up this fierce new track from them for his ever-eclectic label, STMPD RCRDS.
A phat slice of hip-house, Clap Clap continues CLiQ’s reputation for crafting big dance-floor bombs with a lot of attitude. Focused around a sultry female vocal, the track has a sparse arrangement that lets the voice guide the way. Low slung bass, shuffling tribal percussion and distorted synth beeps form the groove, and the vibe that’s created it a seriously sexy one for deeper dance-floors. There’s still plenty of crossover appeal in it too thanks to the excellent vocal performance.
CLiQ have many accolades to their name, including a Silver sales/streaming certification in the UK, at number one slot on the Spotify UK Viral Chart and a at number one on the Billboard Dance Chart. With support from Pete Tong, Afrojack, Oliver Heldens and more, it’s clear that they are a duo that are going places.
CLiQ Clap Clap is released on STMP Records on 13 July.
