MelÚ spins a fresh rework of Positiva's iconic anthem, 'Let's Groove'

MUMBAI: Positiva continue their series of 25th Anniversary remixes by revisiting one of the biggest club tracks from the early days of the label, George Morel, as UK producer Melé delivers his rework of 1996 original Let’s Groove.

A percussive and tribal house DJ, artist & innovator, Melé’s brand of euphoric high-octane dance music is inspired by his love of Brazilian beats and transatlantic hip hop, with the Liverpudlian tackling Let’s Groove with impeccable flair, lacing the original with his unique and energetic sound.

Best known for his anthem ‘Ambience’, Melé has since gained prolific support and recognition from some of the biggest names across the scene, including Eats Everything, Patrick Topping, Tiga, Annie Mac, and Pete Tong. Releasing on imprints such as ‘Edible’ and legendary house label Defected Records, Melé continues to DJ around the world, supported by his regular DJ mix series ‘Melé’s Manor Rhythms’ which has continued to grow his following purely from his impeccable ability behind the decks as the perfect on-point party curator.

With the ‘Let’s Groove’ remix released on iconic imprint Positiva Records, the label is marking 25 years at the summit of dance music, showcasing their back-catalogue with a series of one-off parties and special releases. They recently marked the occasion in celebratory style with two of their tracks (Jonas Blue’s ‘Rise’, and Tiesto’s ‘Jackie Chan’) featuring in the Top at number five Official UK Charts.

A hugely popular original upon release in ‘96, George Morel’s hit used a traditional house music sequence with the most polished sounds of the era; a pumping kick, crisp hats, and an organ bass that gave the track added oomph on club sound-systems.

Released on Friday 24th August, the Melé remix of Let’s Groove follows the British DJ’s hectic summer schedule which saw him play dates across elrow London Town, Tomorrowland, and Defected Croatia, with upcoming sets at Amnesia Ibiza, and The Warehouse Project.

Positiva continue their huge landmark year with a series of remixes available at the Positiva Vinyl Club ahead of the label’s forthcoming Positiva 25 compilation, out on 5 October.
