MUMBAI: Sony Entertainment Television’s biggest singing reality show, Indian Idol 10 has been delighting its audience with soul stirring singing by extraordinary contestants and star-studded episodes week on week. This weekend Indian Idol is all set to bring back the flower-power 70s era with a Retro themed episode and helming this episode will be none other than the eternally beautiful and talented veteran actress Zeenat Aman who graced her presence on the show as a celebrity guest. In her honour, the contestants performed songs that she featured in through her career, taking her down memory lane.

When one of the most talented contestants to grace the Indian Idol stage till date, Salman Ali, sang ‘Aapka kya hoga Janabeali’ and ‘Khaike Paan’ in his mesmerizing voice, Zeenat ji was instantly transported to the olden days when she was shooting for these songs. In fact, she was so overcome with nostalgia, that she said, “The energy with which Salman sang was superb! Watching his energy and moves reminded me of Amit ji and I feel nostalgic. This song was originally not there in the film but writer Salim-Javed put the song in last minute.”

We had all heard about the transcendental power of music. And when the performer is as talented as Indian Idol contestant Salman Ali who infuses his heart and soul in each song, how could Zeenat ji not be transported to the bygone era of 70s Bollywood?
