MUMBAI: ‘SurSagar’ – A rising star every month, presents a young, versatile sitar exponent Mehtab Ali Niazi of the famous Bhendi Bazar Gharana, at Sri Shanmukhananda Padma Ranga Chamber Music Hall, 2nd Floor, Sion, Mumbai on Friday, 1 February 2019, 7.30 pm. onwards. Entry is free for the concert on first come first basis.

Born on 20 October 1997, Mehtab belongs to the very famous Bhendi Bazar Moradabad Gharana. Mehtab’s father, Ustad Mohsin Ali Khan who is a great Sitar player himself, started training him when he was only four years old. He has been performing since then and on his first performance which was at the age of six, on Pt. Birju Maharaj ji's birthday celebration, he left the crowd astounded.

Considered one of the finest sitar players on the Indian music scene, Delhi based Mehtab is emerging as one of the most promising young sitar players, his soulful and unique style of playing has been receiving accolades from audiences and peers alike for his outstanding ability and quality of music, which has left his listeners captivated. Mehtab aspires to spread the magic of classical music around the globe.
