BACARDI NH7 Weekender 2015 announces lineup

MUMBAI: The happiest music festival turns six this year. Since 2010, the BACARDÍ NH7 Weekender has grown to be one of the country’s most beloved musical weekends - representing Bacardi India and Only Much Louder’s commitment to bringing fans unforgettable musical experiences - a reflection of the untameable spirit of the festival. This year, the festival travels to five cities. The journey kicks off in beautiful Shillong, where the festival will be held for the first time on October 23-24. From Shillong, the festival travels to the remaining four editions of the festival - October 31-November 1 in Kolkata, November 28-29 in New Delhi, December 4-6 in Pune and December 5-6 in Bangalore. Over 100 artists across diverse genres will play on five different stages at the festival this year - with huge global names like AR Rahman, Mark Ronson, Megadeth and Rodrigo y Gabriella on the bill. The lineup was announced on social media on Tuesday, August 5 with many of the festival’s fans, supporters and artists announcing names of artists performing over the course of the day with a nationwide Twitter trend starting from noon itself.

Speaking about this year’s BACARDÍ NH7 Weekender lineup, Bacardi India, Director- Marketing & Sales, Manish Seth, says, “BACARDÍ has been the forefront of innovative music experiences in the country. We have been consistent with this strategy since our inception in India, and BACARDÍ NH7 Weekender is one of our longest tie ups in this effort. We have ambitioned to raise the bar higher every year with many Untameable experiences like the Giant Ferrous Wheel, hot air balloon rides and others in the last five years. This year we launch with OML one of the biggest line ups ever in our endeavor to take the festival experience another notch higher”

Only Much Louder, ceo, Vijay Nair adds, “This is easily the biggest lineup for the BACARDÍ NH7 Weekender that we’ve ever had. We’ve been working on putting together a lineup of this scale for months, and I’m incredibly proud that the programming of the festival in each of the five cities reflects the true spirit of the festival."

After a successful pre sale of tickets that sold out in less than 48 hours, a limited number of Phase I tickets are currently available on Insider.in.

The Lineup

From critically-acclaimed international headliners, to homegrown musical heroes, this year’s Bacardi NH7 Weekender lineup has something for all sorts of discerning music lovers. Classic Bacardi NH7 Weekender stages like the Bacardi Arena and The Dewarists return and new stages will highlight the diverse performances on offer for fans at the festival this year.

International Artists

Mark Ronson

The man responsible for one of the biggest singles of the year, ‘Uptown Funk', will play his debut shows in India at the Delhi, Pune and Bangalore editions of the Bacardi NH7 Weekender this year. Mark Ronson is an English DJ, record producer and songwriter. He has produced multi-platinum, Grammy-winning albums for artists like Amy Winehouse and Adele, and his fourth studio album ‘Uptown Special’ peaked at #1 on the UK charts earlier this year.

Guitarist/composer Dhruv Ghanekar’s new project Dhruv Voyage sees him join forces with some of the most exciting sessions musicians in the country’s music scene. His new album Voyage features collaborations with the likes of Raul Midon, Etienne Mbappe and Ila Arun. Dhruv Voyage will perform at the Kolkata, Pune and Bangalore editions of the festival.
