MUMBAI: A month after PM Narendra Modi launched the Swacch Bharat Campaign to clean up India; RJ Meenakshi took to the streets in Chandigarh to check the on ground situation and give the city a reality check on its cleanliness, health and sanitation condition.
RJ Meenakshi requested the listeners of her show Salaam Chandigarh to update her on the cleanliness situation of their respective localities and within an hour and a half she received more than 100 calls from the listeners apprising her of the situation in their respective localities. Based on listeners’ feedback, RJ Meenakshi contacted the city administration and together visited more than 15 sites to check the situation. City Mayor Harphool Kalyaan, Joint Commisioner Rajiv Gupta, Health supervisor Puskhar and Ramtirath and Chief Sanitation Officer Pratap singh along with MY FM team personally checked on the cleanliness situations of various localities in the city.
The officials swung in to action and inspected the steps that have been undertaken in adherence to the PM’s Swacch Bharat campaign, they were out in the field for almost 4 hours with RJ Meenakshi and MY FM team. Immediate orders and action was taken by the officials and have promised the waste will be cleared in a week’s time. They also thanked RJ Meenakshi and MY FM for taking up reality check. RJ Meenakshi will keep doing these checks regularly to check on the progress of Swacch Bharat Campaign.
