MUMBAI: Radio Mirchi, India’s number one radio station, has always been at the forefront when it comes to giving music industry its due credit. Carrying forward their endeavour, Radio Mirchi is back with the second round of the jubilees, ‘The Jubilees Night’ where the top songs of ‘Officer’s Choice Blue Mirchi Top 20’ powered by Provogue were felicitated. Radio Mirchi along with Sony Music also celebrated the music launch of ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahaani’ with Vidya Balan and Mohit Suri.
Radio Mirchi felicitated songs that have ruled the Mirchi Top 20 chart from June 2014 to May 2015. For a song to be considered a jubilee it has to stay in top 5 ranks of the ‘Officer’s Choice Blue Mirchi Top 20’ powered by Provogue chart and complete 100 plus days for Diamond, 75 – 99 days for Platinum and 49 – 74 days for a Golden Jubilee.
Jeena Jenna (‘Badlapur’) and Sooraj Dooba Hai (‘Roy’) were the two winners of Diamond Disc. The winners of the Platinum Disc were Manwa Laage (‘Happy New Year’) and Samjhawan (‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya’). Galliya and Banjara (‘Ek Villain’), Aaj Phir (‘Hate Story 2’), Tere Hoke Rahege (‘Raja Natwarlal’), Meherban (‘Bang Bang’), Lovely (‘Happy New Year’), Dance Basanti (‘Ungli’), Tharki Choro (‘PK’), Jee Karda (‘Badlapur’) and Chitiya Kalaiya (‘Roy’) were felicitated with the Golden Disc.
This star studded event, held at Hard Rock Café in Mumbai, saw the presence of eminent personalities from the music industry such as Kavita Krishnamurthy, Swanand Kirkire, Mithoon, Shekhar Ravjiani, Tochi Raini, Meet Bros, Sona Mohapatra, Ajay-Atul, Sachin-Jigar, Irshad Kamil, Neeti Mohan, Bhoomi Trivedi, Neha Kakkar, Sonu Kakkar, Monali Thakur and even Bollywood actors like Vidya Balan, Mohit Suri, Varun Dhawan, Mohit Marwah and Mohit Suri.
The music launch of the most anticipated romantic drama film, ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahaani’ was certainly the highlight of the event. Present for the music launch of ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahaani’ were Vidya Balan and Mohit Suri. The ace music composers Jeet Ganguly and Mithoon kept the audience entertained as the duo belted out some songs from the movie.
After creating a great on-air experience over the years, Mirchi Top 20 this year will reach out to 11 cities with a series of on-ground concerts. This additional leg lends a great synergy between the objectives of ‘Mirchi Top 20’ and ‘Officer’s ChoiceBlue’ to create an exciting touch point with music lovers.
