MUMBAI: Singer Shivani Vasvani's debut song 'Subah Ke Dard' released by Saregama is a soulful tribute to a great Legend Begum Akhtar. Shivani Vasvani believes that nothing happens without a divine purpose.

As a young girl of 12/13 years an uncle who is a great music lover would record music from radio concerts and had a great ear for classical music and ghazals, he would often ask her to sing.  One day he gave an audio cassette and asked her to listen to it and learn the ghazal in it. The next day Shivani ji   sang it to him. He was so happy and congratulated and said you should sing Begum Akhtar songs your style and voice are suitable for her kind of music-the ghazal stayed with her as she grew up with many more stalwarts JagjitJi -Chitraji as her prominent influences her parents Ghansham & Minakshi Vaswani as mentors years later she connected back with Begum Akhtar in her spiritual journey.  So here she was totally in awe of her as she started to collect information about her all the connections since childhood which were  waiting to string together as she was ready to honor herself as a singer with her song and  honoring her journey through this tribute .. And hence, recorded the song which connected her to her Begum Akhtar in her childhood.
