MUMBAI: Dyro aka Jordy van Egmond is a Dutch DJ and progressive house producer, who recently played for the first time in India at Sunburn. He gave a treat to fans with electro house, trap and house music.
Commenting on what music festivals can do to cater different content to the audience Dyro said, "For music festivals, we need more diverse line-ups. The artists who are known for their music, the audience needs to know what the other forms which exist are. Asia is an emerging market for electronic music."
Speaking on his experience Dyro said, “Indian music is very much different, we never hear it in Europe or America. The instruments, culture and music is totally different. There is lot of content to look forward to; So, I am look forward on playing more here."
Talking about the present condition of electronic music, he asserted, “The music now has turned monotonous, but it is getting better. We should not run after charts, we need to create substance which is unique and new, be more creative, and that is how EDM is going to grow.”
Since 2012, a number of Dyro’s tracks have been charted on Beatport. In 2014, his track ‘Calling Out’ with Ryder reached the Beatport Top 10. He also performed at Tomorowland 2014.
In 2014 Dyro also founded the independent record label WOLV Records, which releases both his own material and that of other ‘up and coming’ artists. He has released his original singles and remixes on labels like Revealed Recordings, Musical Freedom, Spinnin' Records, Capitol Records, Def Jam, RAM Records, and Strictly Rhythm.
