MUMBAI: You can take cricket out of Virender Sehwag, but not Virender Sehwag out of cricket. The former opening batsman of the Indian cricket team will entertain and engage listeners of Big FM with an aural experience across the network's 45 stations.
Big FM announced their new concept 'BIG Cricket Headquarter' with The Sultan of Multan that will run on air from 9 March to 4 April 2016.
Focused on the upcoming T20 World Cup to be held in India, the ace cricketer will analyse and provide expert's opinions every day, throughout the tournament. With RJ Prateek, Big FM roped in Sehwag for hourly updates, trivia, match analysis, behind-the-scene stories for the show, starting on 9 March. 'Big Cricket Headquarter' will also allow fans to participate in a special contest titled 'Big Cricket Expert' and win an opportunity to watch the game played in the respective cities. Not only contests, Big FM will also let the listeners don the expert's cap by voicing their opinions and analysis on the games. Twelve winners will eventually get the opportunity to experience the final game of the tournament.
The show will go on air every evening throughout the tournament. Big FM had launched the property 'Cricket ka Big Headquarter' earlier, and the format has now been renamed to 'Big Cricket Headquarter', specially designed for the sport's shorter format's biggest tournament.
Sehwag said, “This is my second year with 92.7 BIG FM’s BIG Cricket Headquarter and I am glad to be the face of this property yet again. The show is a great platform for me to connect with all cricket lovers off the field. With the cricket fever starting soon, I am extremely excited about bringing all the on and off field drama to the listeners and truly submerge them in this much awaited cricket experience.’’
