MUMBAI:  The music industry in India is a close knit one, and has spawned many marriages within the fold. But there are artistes who have sought and found their true loves outside the Bollywood fold.

Several of these spouses can be spotted at glamorous dos in the industry, but for many prefer being the silent supporters to their famous better halves. Radioandmusic.com brings out glimpses of these rarely seen spouses of Indian musicdom.

Arijit Singh and Koel Roy

The charismatic singer with the hooded eyes and wavy locks may have stolen a million hearts with his honeyed voice, but do you know who’s walked away with his heart?  Arijit Singh married his childhood friend, Koel Roy in 2014. This is supposed to be Arijit’s second marriage. Reports suggest he was earlier married to a co-contestant from his Fame Gurukul days.

Sonu Nigam and Madhuriama Nigam

It has been 14 years since the two got married. Sonu’s beautiful wife who is a fashion designer and businessperson, has also tried her hand at hosting radio shows – she is currently hosting her own show on Big FM. Reports about their marriage having hit a rough patch did the rounds a few years ago, but now the pair appear to be reconciled. In fact, Sonu’s facebook page terms his status as being in a ‘civil union’. From the pictures posted, it is apparent that the couple is living happily with their eight year old son Nevaan.

Shaan and Radhika Mukherjee

Singer Shaan and his wife Radhika’s love story is no less than a fairly tale.  After seven years of courtship, the couple decided to marry officially in 2002. Shaan continued his singing after marriage but, Radhika who was an airhostess with Swiss Air called off her career because the couple was expecting their first child. Radhikha had a few years ago, launched her own furniture line for children.

Adnan Sami and Roya Faryabi

Twice unlucky, Adnan Sami appears to have found true love in Roya Faryabi, who he married on 29 January 2010. His other two marriages did not last for long. Roya, an Afghan origin German is an engineer. According to reports, Adnan first met Roya in India during her visit in 2010 and proposed to her some time later.

Shreya Ghoshal and Shiladitya Mukhopadhyaya

The melodious Shreya married long time boyfriend on 5 February 2015, and recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary. The two have been friends since their school days. Shreya is a singing sesation while her husband is an entrepreneur.

Yo Yo Honey Singh and Shalini Singh

Honey Singh’s wedding came as a surprise for his fans when he introduced his woman to the world on the stage of India’s Raw Stars, TV show. The two got married in 2011.

Sunidhi Chauhan and Hitesh Sonik

Like other singers, Sunidhi tied the knot with her long time friend, music composer, Hitesh Sonik. The match dated for two years and finally united in wedlock on 24 April 2014. This is not Sunidhi’s first marriage. Her wedding with director-choreographer Bobby Khan, when she was barely out of her teens, did not last long.

Atif Aslam and Sara Bharwana

The Pakistani singer hitched with his long time girlfriend, Sara, in 2013. The lovebirds belong to the same city, Lahore. Before making it official, the good-looking couple dated for almost seven years. They are proud parents of a baby boy, Ahad.

Tulsi Kumar and Hitesh Rahlan

The big fat Indian wedding of Tulsi and Hitesh took place on22 February 2015. It was seemingly an arranged affair. Gulshan Kumar’s singer daughter with Hitesh, a Jaipur-based businessperson, was one of the highlights of the social calendar, and the entire T-Series clan was in attendance.
