Few hiccups later, Zee Music adds Indeep Bakshi's name to 'Kala Chashma'

MUMBAI: Zee Music's 'Kala Chashma' has been the most talked about song in the last 48 hours and why wouldn't it be. The label made it a point to add each element that would help their 'goggle-filled' song reach the top.

The 'Baar Baar Dekho' track has currently reached 14 million views on YouTube and there seems to be no stopping the juggernaut. But, the song would have probably hit a roadblock had the Zee authorities not acted swiftly in the first 15 minutes of its YouTube release.

Unfortunately, Zee Music and Dharma Productions missed on giving the song credit to the actual rap maker of this peppy number - Indeep Bakshi. The singer-rapper who is best known for his Bollywood hit song 'Saturday Saturday' was given a miss from the credit list, but a phone call from Bakshi and a quick action plan from Zee saved the day.

"I was at my place when I received a call from my team, saying that my rap had released in Zee Music's new song 'Kala Chashma'. I was really happy to hear the news because I had sung that portion for them just a couple of months ago. While the happiness was just building up I learnt that my name wasn't mentioned in the credits," explained the singer.

This is when Bakshi called up Zee Music to explain what had happened. They realised the same and added his name in the credits in no time. "Everything happened in 15 minutes and I am really grateful to the team at Zee Music," stated he.

A few years ago Bakshi had used this very rap in his single 'Don't Look At Me' from his album 'Billionaire'. The album was then released under Sony Music, that also handles Badshah, but the rights of the tracks remained with Bakshi.

"So, now both Badshah and my name appear in the song because they have kept half of his and the other half of my rapping. They have also made a few changes in the rap and that belongs to Badshah," clarified the 'Bad Wali Feeling' singer.

Something similar had happened with the song maker back in 2012. "The track 'Aankhon Aankhon' which appeared in the movie 'Bhaag Johnny' was actually mine. Back then I couldn't claim it because I did not have the copyright to the same, plus Honey Singh's name was associated with the song and I respect him for his work," stated Bakshi who will soon be featured alongside Sunny leone in a track for 'Tina & Lolo'.

At the end of all the singer-rapper is happy to be given the credits to the song.
