I was not confident about my own music: Rishab Joshi

MUMBAI: EDM duo Lost Stories, who performed at the world’s biggest EDM festival Tomorrowland in 2015, is all set for its first collaboration with a Belgium-Israeli group of DJs, Jetfire. Recently, the duo was back in the news for a remix of Alan Walker's ‘Faded’, a song that has been on the popularity charts in India since its release.

Radioandmusic.com had a candid conversation with one-half of the electronic duo Rishab Joshi who shared some hitherto unknown facts about their journey.

“I come from a musical background. My father and my grandfather have been my inspiration. I have been learning and creating music for 11 years. My music is based on my roots which are deep Rajasthani folk and a blend of electronic music.  I wanted to improve my music with technology, so started mixing electronic tunes with them. In 2011, I met Prayag and collaborated with him without having a second thought as I was not confident about my own music.”

“I was not at all well versed with marketing or the music industry whereas Prayag was an expert. Playing at Tomorrowland was the biggest high. Before playing at Tomorrowland, I was nervous and there was this thought in my head that I had to prove myself. Tomorrowland was different and exotic, an experience I am going to cherish the rest of my life,” says the musician, who is a self-confessed fan of Nucleya and Flume.

Would they like to play anywhere else in the international music arena? Says Rishab, “If I ever get the chance I would like to play at the Ultra Music Festival and Coachella too (smiles).”
