The song has been steadily climbing the charts, and Radioandmsuic.com had a talk with Sony Music India officials, who shared how the song has been connecting with people across age groups and has also cut through language barriers.

Speaking about it, Sony Music head of International Music, Arjun Sankalia said, “We believed in that song and after releasing, we sent it across to all the radio channels to get a large database. We have promoted the song via social media and operated various digital marketing strategies. If not more, I believe that the song will seize similar craze as Justin Bieber's 'Sorry' did at one point of time.”

While talking about the marketing plan behind it, he said that Sony Music has worked with certain English channels such as Comedy Central to promote the song. He added, “We work on a number of songs at the same time. We are constantly checking TV, channels, streaming services, the large database and obviously the consumers' reactions.”

About Being Maharashtrian's version of 'Cheap Thrills', he said, “Prior to this video, there was another video where the song was synced with Bollywood actor Govinda and Raveena Tandon's dance sequence. Whoever is talking the video or any content he/she/they should follow YouTube's terms of service and copyright policy.”
