MUMBAI: Enchanted Valley Carnival has been appreciated for going multi-genre by letting Bollywood music be a part and now, they are extending it by roping in Arijit Singh.
According a source, “Arijit Singh will perform at the fourth edition of the upcoming Enchanted Valley Carnival (EVC) this December. It is not officially declared though. Last year it was a shortfall. As singer-actor Farhan Akhtar will be also performing with his band Farhan Live at EVC this year, Arijit will also join in at the festival.”
Continuing with the effort, the 2016 edition of the festival will foray into Bollywood music, apart from extending its consistent focus on other genres of music. EVC loyalists might wonder about the strategy behind opening the doors for mainstream Bollywood musicians, and its ability to justify EVC's motives.
However, recently, in an interview with Radioandmusic.com the managing director and CEO of Universal Music India, Devraj Sanyal said that as Bollywood mainstream music takes the biggest piece of the pie their existance at EVC will receive an equal positive reception.
This open-air festival will be held at Aamby Valley Airstrip on 17 and 18 December.
