MUMBAI: Bhoomi Trivedi who made it to the audiences' hearts with 'Ram Chahe Leela' from 'Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram-Leela' has been ruling the cities Navratri scene for seven years now. In fact, her seventh year as the Bollywood Navratri face has got bigger than ever.
This year the singer is performing for ‘Carnival Raas Jalsa’ a brand that she has been associated with for the last three years. Talking about her association Trivedi states, “The first year the audiences came to see my performance at Carnival. The second year they called it amazing and this year it’s got grander. Carnival promoted the venue at their best with outdoor advertisements too. The earlier two years was just about word of mouth publicity.”
With the number of Navratri participants at the venue increasing with every passing day Trivedi has been trying to give them the best through her performances. “My selection of songs is very different from what one would hear at a usual Mumbai garba venue. Since, I hail from North Gujarat I bring a mix of my birth place, folk, semi-classical and Bollywood,” explains the talented singer who has managed to live up to her fans expectations this Navratri.
Unfortunately, the Navratri lovers have not been able to enjoy the festival due to untimely rains, but that did not affect Trivedi’s performances. “It rained initially, but then the drum beats and the beautiful venue just worked right for the participants. In fact, we have been packed throughout,” confirms the singer who has otherwise been offered work from all ends.
The singer has Bollywood songs in upcoming movies like ‘Queen’, ‘Yeh Toh Two Much Ho Gaya’, and ‘Love Day’ amongst others. However, this is not it. The artist is also doing well in regional music space. “I am really glad that people are offering me so much work both in Bollywood and regional music space. I have been trying to balance it all.”
She further says, “I am mostly offered party numbers, but the regional space is surprising me with other genres and I am exploring it. I recently sang a Sufi number for a Gujarati film.”
Looks like the singer is finally spreading her wings. Way to go!
