MUMBAI: Blasterjaxx team up with hot Italian duo Marnik for their latest original beast on their own burgeoning imprint Maxximize Records. Having collaborated with the likes of Steve Aoki and released on Armada Trice, Spinnin’ Records and Doorn Records, they make for perfect sparring partners for the label bosses.
The track beings with dramatic acoustic guitar plucks, beautifully recorded with every texture and nuance of the strings boldly resonating. A sultry female vocal recalls dark ‘60s R&B as flamenco style strums come into play, before some intense FX and snare builds pump the track into life and we’re thrust headlong into a typically epic Blasterjaxx riff.
Womping bass and taut beats provide the rhythmic backbone, with these fist-pumping sections juxtaposing dramatically with the breakdowns. The riffs are teased in second break, with the rhythms shifting into various patterns, tinges of reggaeton and gypsy music flashing by before another massive build-up. Packed full of ideas and vigour, this track makes it seem like these four producers are a match made in heaven.
Thom continues to spread the sound of Blasterjaxx to every corner of the world, with upcoming dates in Italy, Mexico, China, Macau and Indonesia.
