MUMBAI: Radio Mirchi, Delhi’s leading radio station announced the culmination of its marquee campaign ‘FLAT 983’, in association with Investors Clinic. This year, the campaign, which offers the biggest gratification on radio.  A fully furnished house, honoured the Indian Army for their bravery and valour.

The flat was given to Lance Naik Suresh Bhati as a small gratification. His brother, Pawan Bhati, was in Mirchi studio on the day.

A long-standing campaign of Mirchi, ‘FLAT 983’ gives away a flat to either good Samaritans of Delhi or people who have made a difference in the society. This year, Mirchi designed the contest to pay an ode to the Indian Army.

The contest, in its fifth season, gained huge popularity among the Mirchi listeners as tales of bravery and valour of our soldiers was discussed. RJ Naved and RJ Sayema engaged with the listeners and participants and maintained the excitement. A panel of jury members consisting of esteemed guests announced the winner, as RJ Naved felicitated the family.

Commenting on the initiative, Nitin Singh, Regional Director, Radio Mirchi Delhi said, “We at Radio Mirchi salute and admire the valour demonstrated by our Armed Forces. This year, we wanted to commemorate them in our small way. I truly think that we can never thank our soldiers and their families enough to keep us safe.”

 Speaking at the event, Sunny Katiyal, Investors Clinic said, “At the heart of it, ‘Flat 983’ is a campaign that encourages those who pushed boundaries and made a difference. It is our endeavour to encourage and bring to limelight the unsung heroes of our country.”

Lance Naik Suresh Bhati was posted at Baramullah, Kashmir. On 6th July 2006 during a counter terror attack his second grenadier battalion managed to kill 3 terrorists in hiding. The fourth one opened fire when the battalion was coming back and one of the bullets hit Lance Naik Suresh Bhati in his head leading to his martyrdom.
