MUMBAI: Bacardí NH7 Weekender returns for its third edition in the North East this Friday and Saturday. The Happiest Music Festival comes to a new venue, Wenfield The Festive Hills, Thadlaskein, Lad Mukhla and Jaintia Hills. The festival which began in 2010 in Pune, has grown to be one of the country’s most-loved and anticipated musical events, brought together by Bacardi and organizer Only Much Louder Entertainment’s promise to create experiences that bring exciting new musical talent to fans in India.
The Meghalaya edition of the festival will see guitar virtuoso Steve Vai, metal band Textures, Bollywood composer Amit Trivedi, fusion pioneers Indian Ocean and world music group Karsh Kale Collective perform alongside ten acts from across the North-East including Andrea Tariang Band, Dewdrops, Khasi Bloodz, Rudy Wallang Guitar Jamboree and Sarahlee from Meghalaya, Avora Records and Triau Trackx from Mizoram, Polar Lights and Tali Angh from Nagaland, as well as Lateral from Assam.
The festival stages, BACARDÍ Arena (for headliners, rock and metal), The Dewarists (folk and fusion), Breezer Vivid Shuffle (electronic and hip-hop) and Insider. in Other Stage (alternative and upcoming acts), will have simultaneous performances and fans can access all stages with their festival wristband.
As in previous years, there’s more. The Bazaar is back with pop-up shops with new fashion, accessories, art and plenty more. Between performances, fans can catch a bite at an array of food stalls, choosing from food from the region and outside. Camp Tinder is bringing a bonfire and acoustic music by Parvaaz and Faridkot, perfect for the weather. The Google Pixel 2 Zone on the other hand, is set for play sometime in the future with its neon swings and seesaws!
“The North East has been a special place for us, and this year, we’re pulling all stops to bring the best possible festival experience here. There are a lot of things notable about this year’s edition in Meghalaya – a wonderful new venue is high on that list, along with all the artists working with us from the region, be it as part of the performing artists lineup, or with the art installations, curated food stalls and Bazaar,” said Only Much Louder Entertainment CEO Vijay Nair.”
